Master of Science in Nursing

Curriculum  |  Estimated Tuition & Other School Fees

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is a comprehensive 39-unit, non-thesis curriculum meticulously crafted to prepare seasoned nursing professionals for advanced roles in the field. Graduates of this program are equipped to excel as clinical nurse specialists, nurse managers, adult nurse practitioners, family nurse practitioners, or psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners.

The CLDHEI MSN program is built upon a strong foundation of integrating nursing science, key concepts, and theories from allied disciplines, all interwoven with practical experience and cutting-edge research. This holistic approach ensures that our graduates emerge not only as proficient clinicians but also as well-rounded nursing leaders poised to make a significant impact on healthcare and patient well-being.

Common specializations

The MSN program offer specializations that prepare graduates for immediate, tangible impact in the healthcare system. These include:

  • Nursing Service Administration: For nurses aspiring to leadership and management roles like nurse supervisor or nurse executive.
  • Clinical Specializations: These can include advanced practice in areas such as Maternal and Child Health, Medical-Surgical Nursing, and Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.
  • Nursing Education: Specifically for nurses who want to become educators in academic settings or clinical instructors. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) supports this track to address the demand for qualified nurse educators.

Requirements and career prospects

  • Admission requirements: Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a CHED-accredited institution and hold a valid Philippine RN license. The MSN program also requires at least one year of clinical experience.
  • Career advancement: Graduates are prepared for advanced roles such as nurse manager, clinical nurse specialist, and nursing educator. An MSN degree provides an edge for local promotions and for nurses seeking opportunities to work abroad.
