CLDHEI Community Outreach Reaches Remote Aeta Community in Capas

STA. JULIANA, TARLAC — In a demonstration of social responsibility and solidarity, the Central Luzon Doctor’s Hospital Educational Institution (CLDHEI) successfully concluded its community outreach activity at the foothills of Mount Pinatubo last Friday, March 13, 2026.

The mission targeted a remote Aeta settlement in Brgy. Sta. Juliana, specifically chosen for its unique geographical challenges. Residents of this community must navigate an arduous trek across expansive lahar fields to transport their harvests to the market, often isolating them from basic services and trade.

Key Highlights of the Mission:

  • Direct Impact: The CLDHEI team successfully distributed pooled resources and essential goods to approximately 120 Aeta families.
  • United Front: The delegation was composed of faculty members, administrative staff, and student leaders from various College student organizations, bridging the gap between academic life and social reality.
  • Mission-Driven: The initiative was rooted in the institution’s core mandate to strengthen community involvement and foster deep-seated awareness among its students and personnel.

Solidarity Beyond Borders School officials noted that while the trek was challenging, the goal was to show the indigenous people of Tarlac that the CLDHEI community stands with them. The activity served not just as a distribution of goods, but as a “concerted effort to bring hope” to those living in the province’s most far-flung areas.

Moving Forward While participation for this specific leg was limited to student organization officers, faculty members and school staff, the administration encourages the rest of the student body to remain engaged. This event marks the beginning of a series of outreach programs aimed at reaching marginalized sectors in the region.

“We believe that through these small acts, we create a larger ripple of awareness. Our commitment to our indigenous brothers and sisters remains a priority.”
